Spreading happiness with Bearly Loved!
14 July 2019Our furry adventurers are ready for the off, to We Everyone’s Child Organisation, an orphanage in Uganda! Spreading happiness with the help of Bearly Loved their mission is bring a little love to the children there and we are sure they are going to do an amazing job!
Set up in 2013, Bearly Loved was founded by Andrea Lea, after watching a heart breaking programme about an orphanage, where children were so in need of love.
Not long after, her daughter was tidying her bedroom and created a small mountain of teddy bears on the floor that she no longer played with. She said she was happy to send them to charity, but there was one she couldn’t let go of. A raggedy, tatty looking rabbit with holes in his ears called ‘Baddit’, who had been her friend and comfort through the challenging first seven years of her life.
Andrea’s daughter is now a teenager and compared to many children has it all; a home, family, friends, food and clothes. But Baddit remains something very special.
Thinking back to the orphanage, and the children who have nothing, Andrea thought about how she could help them to have their very own, special ‘Baddit’? The furry friend that they could hold in sad times, and help them feel safe at night. And Bearly Loved was born….
Thank you to all our fabulous Juice Nursery children, parents, staff and friends who have supported this initiative. As well as donating beloved furries and filling in passports, our supporters have donated over £200 in Bear Fare, to see them off on their travels!
